Hardware Development Engineer

The responsibilities for this position include developing and qualifying electronic designs (on-motherboard and peripheral cards) for server computer systems from concept to production, with particular focus on network interfaces. Responsible for working with the platform team, cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure designs meet requirements for feature set, functionality, cost, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, and standards compliance.
*Work with component suppliers to obtain necessary information/documentation to enable successful implementation of parts in designs and to help drive their roadmaps to align with Dell's requirements; *Assist in defining system architecture for assigned program and partition design tasks as necessary for team.*Responsible for electrical design of system/subsystem; *Ensure the manufacturability, reliability and serviceability of designs; *Use schematic entry tools; ensure layout meets established guidelines; *Develop test plans, validate and characterize assigned design
REQUIREMENTS
*Understanding of networking and communications technologies such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, 802.3 desirable; *expert knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory and principles; *excellent verbal and written communication; *excellent team leadership skills; expert problem solving and analysis skills; ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities and working independently under aggressive timelines; proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets, schematics and board layout; ability to drive cross-functional development efforts through conception, planning, implementation, and sustaining; ability to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, tech plans, and documentation.
