The tasks include preparation and scanning of paper documents, and indexing, quality control, and analysis of the electronic documents. This position is also responsible for other general HIMS functions, such as paper chart retrieval, physician chart completion and customer service.Position Available:

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of health information science and pass a health information science test that includes medical terminology.Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Retrieves, reviews, and scans paper medical record documents; indexes images; reviews images for quality; and reviews images for initial required elements and placement in the Electronic Health Record, according to department standards.Analyzes documentation for completeness on both a document and encounter level. Flags Electronic Health Record deficiencies to appropriate physicians, according to pre-established requirements set by JCAHO, regulatory agencies, and hospital Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.Reviews patient encounters in the batches and the Electronic Health Record for accuracy. Completes report of quality review results.Provides customer services such as supplemental training on Electronic Health Record applications; record retrieval and delivery; responds to requests for assistance, as appropriate.
