GIS Specialist / Programmer

L. Robert Kimball & Associates has an immediate opportunity for a talented GIS specialist / programmer within our Telecommunications and Technology Division. The successful candidate will support our project teams in the production of GIS data that meet or exceed the expectations of our clients. Relevant experience in public safety is a plus.

Overview of Responsibilities:
•Maintain the GIS database; including inputting and correcting data, determining format, researching data conversions, establishing data specifications, updating sources and ensuring data integrity.
•Design applications to support staff, projects and improve production.
•Utilize software packages and programming languages such as: ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcSDE, GIS, Visual Basic, .NET and JavaScript.
•Troubleshoot problems with the GIS mapping system and install new applications and upgrades.
•Schedule and coordinate application development and system integration provided by outside service contractors.
•Act as a technical resource and assist users to resolve software problems; implement solutions or notify service providers as required.
•Follow project delivery procedures and standards in compliance with client and division-specific guidelines.
•Provide technical support for GIS projects, staff and clients.
•Assist with technical proposal writing and conducting presentations.
•Approach assignments with a “can do” attitude.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field is required. At least one to two years experience in developing GIS applications in an ESRI environment is preferred.
