Functional Architect

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Work closely with the business to evaluate and scope new initiatives, flush out technical requirements, and drive development through aggressive launch cycles
•Collaborate with Software Engineers to negotiate and define product solutions
•Act as the customer advocate during design, architecture, and implementation decisions.
•Develop product functional specifications
•Responsible for business process flows, object models, prioritized requirements documents, use cases, and application prototypes.
•Project management: task definition, assignment, estimation, tracking, prioritization across multiple internal and external constituencies.
•Work with Quality Assurance to address any ambiguities in functional specifications
•Identification and pursuit of opportunities associated with new and evolving technologies and their ability to impact the business.
•Perform market and competitive analysis to keep current with functional industry trends and requirements to assist in developing product roadmap definitions
•Maintain a team-oriented working environment that promotes open discussion on important issues, a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business, and a continued focus on quality and customer service.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

•5+ years of Strong eliciting, defining, and documenting business requirements and translating them into technical design
•3+ years in the Financial Services Industry preferably Mortgage Banking
•Proven ability to define and prioritize product requirements and work with technical teams.
•Demonstrated ability to deliver through entire lifecycles
•Passion for delivering high quality products
•Driven to achieve a high level of client and customer satisfaction
•Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
•Experience working with cross-functional teams from multiple departments
•Systematic thinking skills. Able to deal with novel problems from different perspectives and from different levels of abstraction
•Ability to analyze and understand complex workflows and processes, and to develop innovative approaches to streamlining and automating them
•Experience with complex systems. Able to decompose and solve problems at the appropriate level within the system, keeping in mind the higher-level structures and their requirements and dependencies with adjoining subsystems
•Understanding of user research and usability testing principals
