Fuel System Design Leader

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, TransportationFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Job Purpose
Lead Fuel Systems group in diesel engine design used in locomotives, ships and stationary power. This position will be a technical leader with specific attention to the high pressure pumps and injectors, both in unit injection and common rail applications.Essential Functions
Lead design projects involving EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) Direct Diesel Injection equipment.
Lead fuel system designs (High Pressure and Low Pressure) for reciprocating engines.
Write Design Specifications describing the design details and requirements for vendor activity.
Lead Design Reviews and Concept selection reviews to make decisions on design direction.
Create Validation test plans to prove the reliability of the designs.
Create/Execute Emissions and Performance test plans.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of five years experience with fuel systems
Minimum of two years experience with diesel, gasoline, or gas reciprocating engine operation
Minimum of one year experience with engine emission testing
Minimum of one year experience in the electronic control of engine fuel systemsEligibility Requirements

You must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time

Understanding of injection equipment
Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification
Masters or advanced degree is a plus
Experience with alternate fuels
Experience with gamma technologies engine modeling software
