Engineer, Design

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide design input and verification of new and existing products through detailed structural and fatigue analyses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Perform all analyses necessary to verify product design.
•Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
•Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
•Determine design requirements and insure they are met.
•Review pertinent engineering documentation (drawings, reports, NCR's, specifications, etc.) to ensure engineering accuracy and conformance to design requirements.
•Write design verification reports providing documentation to customers or other verification authorities that our products meet design requirements.
•Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

•Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
•BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 8 years of experience in finite element stress analysis.
•Extensive knowledge of mechanics of materials and fatigue methodologies.
•Experience with programming codes such as FORTRAN and drafting packages such as AutoCAD.
•Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
•Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
•Understanding of design principles in a manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with metallurgy and/or elastomeric materials.
