Engineer, Control Simulation/Prototyping

Job Description:
Works in the Systems Simulation group in a team environment to work with the Advanced Design and Systems Architecture groups to develop high fidelity simulation models for new aircraft systems concepts. Main duties include prototyping (simulation) of control systems/architecture in MatLab/Simulink to evaluate control system response to system variations. Testing of the system to validate the simulation. Optimization of the control system to improve system performance. Other duties include developing new system simulation tools and techniques to develop simulation models of proposed systems to provide for system optimization within the analytical simulation models. The Systems Simulation Engineer will work to assure the models accuracy through the use available aircraft system data and the acquisition of new data when required for improving model accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering is required, with at least 3 years experience in control system design/optimization. The System Simulation Engineer must have extensive experience and a thorough understanding of software used for control system simulation and how to apply that technology to developing aircraft systems. Candidates must coordinate with vendors and other groups within Cessna, so strong communication, planning, organizing and coordination skills are required. A willingness to learn about other aircraft systems is required. Desired qualifications are as follows: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modeling of control systems; Experience in rapid prototyping of a control system; Experience in developing systems architecture and design; knowledge of the history of Citation systems and the certification of those; Ability to provide ROM and detailed analysis of systems performance and the effect of system architecture changes from a “total aircraft” point of view.
