Embedded Software Engineer - Simulation/Modeling

Creates models of system behavior and simulations modeling
behavior changes over time.

Exploits existing simulation technologies (such as the High Level Architecture) and software design tools to reduce cost and schedule to develop simulations.

Obtains direction from and reports to lead engineer.

Develops and maintains simulation requirements.

Assists in the planning of incorporating the requirements
into a specific simulation build.

Executes simulation build plans in accordance with published plans and schedules.

Designs, builds, integrates, and tests software implementing models and simulations.

Perform analyses as required to identify, explain, and propose changes to the simulation so as to accurately model the referent system.

Assists in resolution of relevant programmatic problems; resolves technical problems that critically affect performance, cost, or schedule.

Supports the simulation end users by listening to and answering concerns.

Contributes to the development of new principles, processes, or concepts in simulation software engineering.

Uses innovation and creativity to adapt existing simulation technology to new problems and invent new simulation technology.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a small integrated team with minimal direction.

Demonstrated ability to derive requirements with minimal
customer input.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize software design from
sketchy requirements.

Extensive experience with C++ software development in a UNIX enviroment.

Experience using PC productivity tools such as the Microsoft Office suite.

Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.

PREFERRED:
Experience implementing models and simulations in software.
Missile system domain expertise.

Experience with C, C#, Java, FORTRAN, or Ada programming languages.

Experience with the Microsoft .NET programming environment.

Experience with object-oriented design and coding methodologies.

Experience utilizing scripting languages such as PERL or Python.

Experience with XML and the development of web-based software.

Experience with Qt development tools.

Active or inactive Top Secret Clearance.
