Embedded Design engineer

Midwest Research Institute has an opening for an Electrical Engineer with the following experience;
•Design and develop embedded controllers for electromechanical, test/measurement and data acquisition systems.•Architect hardware and firmware configurations to satisfy functional requirements at the system and circuit level.•Interface with multi-disciplinary team in development of system requirements.
•Perform PCB design of digital controllers, troubleshooting and evaluation testing of prototypes, and hardware/firmware verification testing.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. REQUIREMENTS
•MS in Electrical Engineering or BSEE with at least 3 years of experience.•Experience with design of Software for real-time embedded controllers 8-bit to 32-bit and embedded Wintel platforms.•Experience required in coding with C/C++ and assembly language.•Experience with Real Time Operating Systems as well as Windows environment is desired.•Background in digital acquisition systems, signal processing and digital feedback control of electromechanical systems is desired.•Must be familiar with PC-based development tools such as emulators, debuggers, and simulators and structure programming techniques.•Knowledgeable in the hardware and protocols for data communications and control buses: RS-232, RS-485; experience desired with Ethernet, and USB.•Must have good interpersonal skills, written and Oral Communications skills, and be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
