Electrical and Instrument Engineer

The Electrical and Instrument Engineer will be responsible for day to day interface with all facility departments to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure safe, reliable operations for this Olefin/Polyolefin manufacturing site. This engineer will develop new ideas and options to help drive continuous improvement and ensure performance contracts are met or exceeded. They will be involved with TEAMS to initiate project scopes and prioritizations, and participate in HAZOP studies, Process Hazards Analysis, and Management of Change activities. Other responsibilities may include Root Cause Analysis of failures or problems, facilitation of equipment/system repair, and provide cost estimates.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience, preferably in a petrochemical environment. Strong basic engineering skills with knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment is required. This engineer will have detailed knowledge of electrical codes and instrumentation standards for working with designers, PSM, Management of Change, and the organization's Capital Value Process. The ability to design and program control and interlock systems, size and select instruments and control valves, knowledge of PLC and DCS systems, perform Root Cause Analysis, and design Safety Instrumented Systems is a plus. The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer will be an innovative and aggressive decision maker, with excellent communication/interpersonal capabilities and a track record for problem solving, decision making, and exceeding objectives.
