Director, Information Technology

Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing the company-wide information technology function. Essential Job Functions: 1) Design and implement an overall technology plan that leverages technology across the organization, capitalizes on the use of information, addresses current and future needs, develops capabilities and builds an IT team that delivers and supports technology solutions. Continually modify and update as appropriate. 2) Establish a solid technology infrastructure that maintains systems and programs efficiently and effectively while minimizing down time. Update hardware and software as appropriate to capitalize on current technology capabilities. Study vendor products to determine those that best meet TOG needs. Present recommendations to executive management. Order and receive all computer-related equipment. 3) Ensure network backups and preventive maintenance on a regular basis. Work with the IT team to expeditiously locate, diagnosis and correct or repair network, software or hardware problems. Relocate and change computer equipment, software and cabling as necessary. Work with vendors as appropriate. 4) Monitor network resources including security, virus protection and accessibility. Monitor response time and determine cause and resolution if response time slower than established standard 5) Establish project plans for installs, upgrades, updates, or to complete any IT activity. This includes identifying system, user or data requirements, addressing the impact to other systems or programs, configuring workstations and developing solutions to maintain high performance. May perform technical assistance. 6) Establish and manage partnerships and outsourcing arrangements that are cost effective and rapidly and effectively meet priority needs. 7) Build and manage budgets to effective address technology needs both short- and long-term. 8) Oversee daily operations of IT including providing leadership to staff. Ensure programs, procedures and policies are in place to effectively manage daily responsibilities and achieve short- and long-term deliverables. 9) Plan and direct the work activities for employees within the group. Ensure staff is appropriately trained and managed. This includes providing feedback, training, counseling and assessing performance.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Knowledge: Working knowledge of information systems. Capable of designing and executing IT strategy through prior experience. Strong project management with an exposure to managing large-scale IT projects. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Systems or equivalent. Ability to work well with a diverse group of people. 2. Experience: Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in information systems with progressive responsibilities. Some proven second-level managerial experience preferred. Experience with networking, operating systems and standard office software products a must. 3. Skills/Aptitudes: Ability to identify technology priorities and needs. Capable of negotiating cost-effective technology solutions with applicable vendors. Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. A solid understanding of budgets and financial reporting.
