Work with a leading provider and publisher of mobile content and applications in North America as a Development Manager in their Bellevue, Washington office.

As a Development Manager you will lead a team of Engineers in the design, development and test of the Mobile Data Services infrastructure products. The position requires a Manager with knowledge of full lifecycle software development with an emphasis on delivery, quality and customer satisfaction. The Manager must promote shared technologies between teams - an emphasis on cross-functional communication and coordination. The ideal candidate will have come up from the Developer ranks and have successfully transitioned to management.

Tasks:
Define and guide the software development process, collaborate effectively with program management and QA teams to execute on milestones, deliverables in the timely manner.
Promote the sharing of common technologies and re-usable components.
Handle escalations and effectively interact with customer support to resolve production issues.
Actively engage in hiring the best and be effective in people development.
Provide technical oversight, including establishing design and code reviews.
Any other related work as and where required by the business.

Their Mobile division provides the WAP portal as well as ringtones, wallpapers, games and mobile search features for many US cellular carriers. The mobile division offers wireless solutions that help customers build stronger brands and generate incremental revenue.This company has many branded search sites include Dogpile, WebCrawler, MetaCrawler and WebFetch and Switchboard. This company enables delivery of information and entertainment services to consumers, while creating opportunities for partners, advertisers and content publishers.

This is 6 month contract position with the possibility of conversion to full time through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Requirements:



Required skills for this Development Manager position include:

At least 5 years hands-on experience of software design and development.
At least 2 years of industry experience in managing software development.
Knowledge of full lifecycle software development.
Experience in delivering and maintaining Enterprise-level, distributed applications.
Strong skills in people management and motivating team members to reach high levels of productivity.
Experience developing with MS .NET, C# and familiarity of the MS Windows platform.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Tenacity to works through difficult technical problems under customer pressure.
Team player and willingness to go beyond boundaries in order to get the job done.
Flexibility of attitude, to do additional work on short notice when required by the business and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
A good listener/communicator, able to pick up on business problem and translate into concise functional/non-functional requirements and thence to system definitions.
Experience with J2EE, WAP or J2ME/Brew technologies are a plus.
