Legg Mason's Technology Services Department seeks an individual for a Developer Analyst III position.

JOB SUMMARY:
Develops detailed system design and participates with Business design on assigned project. Implements other tasks required for the development, implementation and continuing operation of various systems. Programs supported range from simple to complex assignments. Supports the daily activity of the Business Areas by creating and maintaining custom reports and programs and by providing technical support for system and software issues. Meets less frequently with the supervisor to review progress and problems related to the job.

REQUIREMENTS
SPECIFIC BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors' Degree.
3-4 years experience
Has some business and technical knowledge of investment processes.
Clearly understands purposes, objectives, practices and procedures of the department and business units.
Maintains a solid knowledge of corporate and departmental information system strategies.
Demonstrates proficiency in systems analysis of business requirements.
Has written and oral communication skills to make technical or non-technical material understandable to the team members and supervisor.
Be prepared to carry a pager for system support outside of office hours.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and supervision of a N-Tier Web based application.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Object Oriented programming with Java
Hands-on knowledge in the structure of the Java language
Generating webs site content with servlets
Accessing databases with servlets
Maintaining state in Java web applications
Creating Java Server pages (JSP)
Designing and implementing JSP and servlet architectures
Developing STRUTS applications

Other responsibilities as required.
