Job Description

The Developer performs key software development, maintenance, and testing activities for systems per approved detailed technical designs and test plans. Assists in analysis and design activities.

The Developer:

•Provides production support for systems, including on-call support outside normal business hours as needed. Activities include problem analysis and resolution including break-fix coding and testing of non-standard and complex production issues.
•Uses thorough understanding of systems to make support decisions within parameters set by team leaders.
•Analyzes, codes, and tests simple to complex modules for new programs and changes to existing programs according to approved detailed technical designs and test cases.
•Records test results in test management system and is accountable for the resolution of identified defects.
•Defines and performs post-deployment verification procedures.
•Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of appropriate programming languages and tools for supported systems.
•Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of multiple supported system and business process.
•Documents work as defined by documentation standards. Utilizes document management system to maintain documentation.
•Reviews work done by other team members and enforces standards.
•Prioritizes and oversees activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards.
•Adheres to applicable process standards to maintain CMMI Level 4 certification.
•Utilizes change management system to version code changes and follows approved change management processes.
•Escalates issues and seeks advice when faced with issues/problems outside normal scope of job including escalating changes in scope or work effort that could result in budgetary overrun or missing delivery due dates.
•Interacts with system users and stakeholders around specific work efforts / deliverables.
•Subject to general direction and guidance from manager as appropriate.
•Provides realistic estimates of own work and of work to be assigned to less experienced employees.

REQUIREMENTS
•2+ years application support and development (C, Cool:Gen)
•2+ years production support
•Preferred: CoolGen coding experience
•College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (can substitute three additional years experience in lieu of a degree)
