Designers

Purpose: Candidate needs to have strong drafting skills, initiative, ability and desire to meet commitments, close attention to detail. Designs major components or portion of a functional system to develop or improve products. Utilizes computer aided design equipment such as Solidworks or AutoCAD, develops basic data and creates preliminary layouts and sketches necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, producibility, availability of materials and cost. Coordinates with other organizations and cognizant engineering disciplines. Develops 2-D drawings from solid models, creates parts lists and associated documents, checks completed drawings and layouts for completeness and accuracy, conformity to design/drafting standards, procedures and specifications. Identifies design errors and omissions, recommends revisions and improvements to responsible engineer or designer


Experience - External:
Must have an understanding of aircraft drafting practices. Solidworks and AutoCAD experience highly desirable. Must be able to work with other engineering disciplines. Some relocation assistance may be available. Clearance requirements: secret clearance with update within the last 4.5 years is mandatory.
