Database Architect

Key Role: Facilitate and support cross-functional working groups, contractor teams, and subject matter experts to support the design and development of data-focused architecture content for the Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA). Work with Component, Service, and Agency subject matter experts to understand Core Business Mission (CBM) data initiatives and requirements. Develop conceptual data models to analyze data requirements for CBM enterprise priorities and capabilities. Develop DoD Architecture Framework and OV-7 logical data models using IDEF1x or UML Class Diagrams. Support the development of data requirements for OV-6c process model views. Develop a DoD Architecture Framework and SV-11 physical data model using an ER diagram based on the logical data model. Map standard form and EDI transaction-based data supporting organization missions and operations to data requirements and architecture models. Support IV&V evaluations and assessments of OV-2, OV-3, and OV-7 products for BEA delivery.



Job Requirements













Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience as a data architect, analyst, or systems engineer

-2+ years of experience with IDEF1x modeling or Entity-Relationship modeling

-2+ years of experience with federal enterprise architecture principles or the DoD Architecture Framework

-2+ years of experience with conceptual, logical, or physical data modeling in a DoD environment



Additional Qualifications:

-BA or BS degree in a related field

-Experience with developing information exchange data standards

-Experience with the DoD BEA

-Experience with DoD, including the Core Business Mission Areas within OSD

-Experience with TeleLogic System Architect for Enterprise Architecture in a multi-team environment with integrated product requirements preferred

-Knowledge of object-oriented design principles

-Knowledge of Net-Centricity, DoD's Net-Centric data strategy, and other associated IT transformation initiatives and directives
