Data & Video Services Network Manager

SUMMARY:

Oversees maintenance of internal and external networks, servers, connections and associated equipment that supports data and video services. Interfaces with management and product teams to ensure efficient delivery of products and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure integrity of the data and video networks.

Plan and coordinate installation, upgrades and maintenance of servers and associated peripherals.

Develop systems and processes to automate and integrate hardware and software components into a cohesive environment.

Coordinate data backups and determine appropriate backup strategy.

Researches and implements security and firewall strategies.

Develops network, news, and host security policies. backups.

Manage remote client dial-in access systems and equipment.

Monitor network traffic and make necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware.

Manage the set up and maintenance of intranets related to system administration functions.

Meet with engineering groups to allocate server resources and install new servers.

Participate with product development teams to provide technical guidance and direction.

Prepare capital and operating budget requests.
REQUIREMENTS
Thorough understanding of network protocols used in the Internet arena including TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, RIP, BGP, & OSPF.

Proficient with UNIX, C, C++, Perl, Oracle and Radius.

Able to set up and configure servers utilizing the UNIX and Windows 200x operating systems.

Capable of operating test equipment including: protocol analyzers, BERT, xDSL ATU-C and ATU-R.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and applicable office applications including VISIO.

Bachelor's degree in a related educational discipline.

Microsoft certifications a plus.
