Applications Engineer SW Generalist - Dallas, TX
Role
Act as the focal point in addressing inquires from customers and filed applications team in the PC market space. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to insure the delivery of first class solutions to meet our customer’s requirements. This includes the creation of supporting collateral, customer design reviews, prototype debugging and evaluation.
While this position is a generalist, a strong Software background in both Windows and Embedded is desired.

REQUIREMENTS
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
Benchmarking, feasibility analysis, basic programming, and software and systems design of wireless systems.
Writing and debugging embedded C source code.
Debugging Windows Code.
Assisting customers with software support during product development.
Developing direct customer relationship to provide recommendations and feedback on new features for COMPANY’s next generation wireless communications chips.
Recognizing new business opportunities for COMPANY products and building on established relationships with customers.
Driving resolution to technical issues encountered at customer during development process.
Aiding or development of collateral (eg application notes, reference schematics, reference designs, white papers).
Travel
The position will involve light domestic travel at less than 10%. Travel to COMPANY’s headquarters in Europe will be required 1 or 2 times per year.
Experience
The candidate will have broad technical experience in the PC industry.
Experience in design, implementation and testing of wireless systems.
Experience in board level debugging.
Experience writing, debugging and testing embedded software.
Experience writing, debugging and testing Windows software.
Knowledge of wireless systems; mobile phone and WLAN.
Knowledge of digital wireless standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally and able to withstand a dynamic but high pressure work environment.
Able to effectively interface between customers and COMPANY’s organisation.
Qualifications
Candidates will be university degree qualified in a technical subject, preferably Electrical or Electronic engineering, with a good academic record and at least 5 years relevant experience.
