Description:

The establishment of the NYC Design Strategy Team for Consumer Companies will provide the expertise, vision, and strategy for global design activities for the company, including overall brand design, packaging, customer experience and visual materials. The Creative Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of the design team for the Consumer and Personal Care Group. The Creative Director will lead the process of identification of designers to join the team, both fulltime and freelance, He/she will assist the VP Design and Design Strategy in the development of an over arching corporate design strategy for the Consumer and Personal Care companies, and the process of developing and managing directional solutions for individual brands/ products including the assessment and tasking of both the internal design team and the selection of external design firms for these projects. The Creative Director will possess a strong aesthetic vision and be able to strategically lead teams of designers in branding/design evolutions that successfully drive the business and helps toward the goal of making the company an acknowledged global leader in the design and brand development arena. Experience and strong design skill in comprehensive design program development, and the management of design teams is essential. Experience and direct expertise in the arena of consumer health products is desirable. The Creative Director has oversight for creative schedules, design budgets and assures adherence to established guidelines, legal requests and requirements.


Requirements:

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree with preference as a BFA in Graphic Design or Industrial Design. Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 9 years of professional experience that combines design expertise and creative leadership is required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of creative successes as well as outstanding leadership experiences. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written that have driven positive outcomes for relationship management of team members, colleagues, internal and external clients is required. A history of effective capability in driving outcomes while engaging the relationships that is vital to the success using strong ability to influence and lead. Demonstrated track record of meeting timelines and production schedules while producing highly creative and innovative concepts is required. Demonstrates excellent ability to interface with internal and external customers on a regular basis is required. The interactions will be customer based to provide insight, consultations, and recommendations for creative design and or resources to be utilized.
