The Component Engineer will proactively manage the life cycle data for all electronic and electrical components approved for use in IL released products, including reviewing the current and future availability and technology roadmap of these components utilizing IL supplier resources and other supply chain services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
•Insure all IL electronic and electrical component specifications are accurate, properly documented and communicated to the IL Contract Manufacturers
•Develop and maintain databases appropriate to manage all data effectively
•Work with IL's contract manufacturers to help resolve issues of part availability due to life cycle (obsolescence) issues.
•Work closely with IL's supply chain management to insure group is aware of all pending issues of obsolescence or possible alternate sources of supply.
•Work closely with IL technical staff to identify new components that are potential replacements for obsolete components. Generate change orders for simple direct replacements of obsolete components where specifications are identical and no validation is required.
•Work with IL Technical management to establish and promote the use of common or standardized components
•Participate in developing strategies to successfully manage electronic component product obsolescence and minimize business risk REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
BSEE and 3+ years experience as an Electronic Design Engineer or Electronic Component Engineer for a high technology manufacturer, OEM or Contract Electronic Manufacturer.
