Color Manager

Color ManagerProvide color research and color solutions to support customer focused branding strategies. All color evaluations are to result in consistent color throughout the brand.Ensure consistency of color by evaluating and approving lab dips and color prototypes, both through visual inspection and utilizing a spectrophotometer and accompanying software application, for solid/printed textiles, trims, and various product materials. Maintain a record of all color approvals for the assigned brand.Approve colors for solids, trims, buttons, yarn dyes, prints, patterns, and bulk.Communicates color standards and evaluation results to buying team and industry sources for individual shade, various shade bands, trims, strike-offs, prints, patterns, embroidery and appliques.Evaluate seasonal color palettes that meet the requirements as established in the primary brand strategy for commercial viability.Analyze brand sales by color for key solid programs and recommend color additions or deletions.Maintain color expertise proficiency through professional courses and training. Keep abreast of color developments in merchandising via industry media and professional organizations.Communicate with mills and suppliers to ensure color coordination and consistency across product lines.Work with Design, CAD, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Product Development to assess all color related issues.Maintain constructive working relationship with overseas mills and suppliers to ensure consistent color across all product lines. Conduct color process training sessions. Approve all lab dips.Supply color standards to Direct team for color reproduction matches.
Education: College degree or equivalent business experience. Technical education in color chemistry or related field.Experience: 6 years' experience in the fashion field.Core Competencies: Experience in the application of color spectrophotometer and/or textile dying and finishing desired. Must be able to achieve a color perception rating of ?excellent? or ?superior? in the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
