CADD Coordinator

Description:

This position reports to the MEP Manager. The responsibilities of the CADD Coordinator include, but are not limited to: management and updating of CADD documents, projects setup, moves/adds/changes, and quality control coordination.

Primary Responsibilities:
Knowledge of the AutoCAD 2002 and 2006 and Microstation v.8.
Input data from multiple sources to update CADD related documents to reflect adds, moves, and changes.
Adjusting/developing plans in AutoCAD.
Work in the CADD database on layer set management.
Training specific employees on AutoCAD, using templates to make a more effective submittal for engineering and design projects.
For some major employees moves or projects, assist Team in coordinating these tasks and ensuring completion.
Coordination for Quality Control check for all projects for all disciplines.
Goals and Objectives - Perform a variety of tasks to support the overall goals of the Engineering and Construction group.
Daily input and operations:
-Train users on basic functions of programs and standards.
-Troubleshoot when needed.
-Print drawings, as requested.
-Project setup and coordination of all disciplines using standards, quality control coordination and plotting procedures.
-Coordination with architect and engineering design groups.
-Organize project spreadsheet of all drawings per discipline per project.
-Handle and coordinate plotting issues, order supplies, provide technical support.
-Schedule deadline time for discipline coordination, plotting and document submittal.
-Set up and maintain project folders and submittals.
-Translate from one software to another.
-Create PLT files, PDF files, TIFF files.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess the equivalent to four years of progressively responsible drafting experience including two years at the journey level preparing complete design and construction drawings for minor construction projects or modification of existing structures or systems using the CAD/GIS system. Applicants must have a general knowledge of building codes; cost estimating; and facility program design practices, processes and procedures. Applicants must have a general knowledge and skill to professionally communicate through written, verbal and graphic means. Applicants must have extensive working knowledge of AutoCad (v. 2004 and 2006) and Microstation software; and have the ability to use computers for word-processing, preparation and maintenance of computer databases and web base documents. Applicants must have the ability to master technical information and synthesize it effectively in written and verbal form that is translatable to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Two years experience working with the AutoCAD desirable.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma Required.
Four years experience in CADD design.
