Business Systems Designer

Position Summary
As part of the Phoenix IT Distribution Systems team, you will provide support and service for our Life and Annuity agent focused applications. Our team works closely with our business areas to provide superior, knowledgeable service in support of new sales of Phoenix Life and Annuity products.Responsibilities include:
To work with our Life and Annuity Product Area to introduce new product offerings into our Sales Illustrations applications.
To learn and utilize technical skills in XML, Java, C, MQ Series & , JMS, UNIX and general software integration techniques and standards in a cooperative software development.
To work with a mixed permanent / contracting technical team to ensure requirements and design are complete, to assign responsibilities, monitor progress and to ensure delivery of quality software.
To work with applications and infrastructure teams to ensure proper configuration management and deployment of developed software.
To support users of our products and our development in debugging unique problems.
To utilize their strong analytical and technical skills to identify, introduce and champion enhancements to improve the reliability of our systems, to reduce repetitive coding changes and to improve application usability for our user community.Position Qualifications include:
Experience in a Systems Integration role, bringing together work and softwares from vendors, contractors, consultants and internal developers to a single cohesive solution.
Demonstrated ability in understanding concepts of business processes, business requirements, and the desire to work with our business partners to develop new solutions and enhancements.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience including at least 1 year of software development and/or maintenance activities.
Experience in a distributed systems environment, utilizing integrated Windows, UNIX and other operating systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills in assimilating technical information, investigating problems and in researching and finding solutions through detailed analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
