Build Engineer 2

We are looking for an experienced individual to oversee build and deployment management. This position will be charged with construction of the division"&tm;s automated build system, deployment planning team, internal test environments, and source code management systems/environment.

You must be intimate with contemporary automated build systems for the .NET and Java platforms, as well as contemporary tools and associated challenges of source code management and control across many physical locations. This position will be involved in all aspects of SDLC.



"¢Design, build, and manage an automated build system for .Net and Java, providing access to deployment-ready systems for all active trunks and stable builds.

"¢Design, build, and manage source code management and control system for .NET and Java environments. Design must ensure fluid operations across multiple physical locations, countries, and multiple vendors who may employ their own SCC.

"¢Design, deploy and manage integrated issue tracking system for the software development process.

"¢Design, build, and manage techniques for deploying specific automated builds to isolated test environments. Design and techniques must incorporate the ability to roll an environment back to a "clean"&tm; state prior to deploying latest changes.

"¢Manage deployment of all code changes to the production environment.

"¢Work closely with the test team to ensure all timely completion of all issues/bug tasks.

Secondary Responsibilities

"¢Work closely with developers, testers, and technical writers to ensure proper procedures for deployment and un-install of finished products.

"¢Work closely with the infrastructure to design and manage appropriate test environments.

"¢Work closely with internal teams to design data-versioning techniques for deployment to test and production environments.

"¢Design and execute the conversion of one source control database to another while preserving all version history.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

"¢Proficient in use of contemporary SCM systems including Subversion, CVS, VSS, Team Foundation Server, and Perforce.

"¢Windows Server and Linux administration plus the ability to install and maintain apache.

"¢Microsoft Project and Project Server.

"¢Knowledge of unit testing with NUnit, JUnit, etc.

"¢Demonstrated expertise with regression testing.

"¢Knowledge of automated builds with Microsoft Build, NAnt, and Ant.

"¢Familiarity with the concepts related to Continual Integration

"¢Knowledge of issue tracking systems, such as Trac or JIRA

"¢Knowledge of VMware virtual environments.

"¢Excellent project and time management skills.

"¢Ability to quickly switch tasks or multitask.

"¢Willingness to receive direction and mentoring from senior staff.

"¢Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, peers, and management through written and verbal communications.

"¢Ability to communicate with customers, internal departments, and other outside parties in a professional manner.

"¢Effectively communicate with developers and quality assurance staff in the resolution of technical problems
REQUIREMENTS
Must have at least 2 yrs proven experience and a 4 yr technical degree.
