Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Balance-of-Plant engineer and Responsible Engineer for Design-Build facilities for MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility. Work location is Aiken, SC, with initial temporary duty in DCS Charlotte offices until DCS relocation. Responsible for coordinating and integrating efforts of multiple disciplines to produce effective design-build packages for six support facilities located at the MFFFF. Responsible for preparation of civil and structural content of those packages. Perform engineering analyses and designs with general management and supervisory direction. Develop and check analyses, prepare presentations and documentation of results. Interface with SRS site personnel and with DOE. Understand and apply QA procedures relating to project planning, analyses, reports and software. Immediate tasks will be preparation of design-build packages (specifications and drawings), and design of miscellaneous yard structures (retaining walls, equipment foundations, spread footings, etc). This position replaces anticipated personnel loss in this position (WLT).
Requirements:
Minimum 5 Years experience after award of Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline. Demonstrated skills and abilities required for experience level. Good planning, communication and organization skills. Understanding of regulatory requirements for site work. Familiarity with ACI and AISC codes, and building design. Experience in performing concrete designs (retaining walls, equipment foundations, spread footings, etc.) Working knowledge of and understanding of interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
Desirable:
Experience with creation of design-build bid packages for free-standing facilities. Professional Engineer license in SC.
