The Technical Architect directs the operational activities of programming, systems analysis, and software development within assigned area(s) of responsibility. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the client area's functions and systems, application program development alternatives, and system development life cycles. Responsibilities Direct the continual upgrading of procedures and equipment to maintain currency with technological progress, economic change and business needs. Recommend annual budgets and manage expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines. Direct all phases of the system development and implementation process, including the analysis, design, development, testing, and ongoing support for the client area's application systems. Ensure that the implementation of projects is consistent with Information Technology (IT) plans and installation standards. Consult with functional management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements, hardware, and software on the client area(s) applications and systems. Ensure effective policies and procedures are developed and maintained for the organization. Evaluate and report on the impact of changes across multiple applications. Coordinate application development activities of project team’s leaders. Ensure the training and development of staff members to develop their skills and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in their area of responsibility. Direct staff members directly or indirectly in the development, implementation, and support of applications to meet the client’s business requirements. Qualifications: The position of Technical Architect is required to continue to meet and exceed our client’s expectations and provide excellent EYOnline product support and enhancements. Filling this open position is crucial for the success of the following high priority projects: 1) eRoom deployment in DE and SG, 2) analysis and implementation of a new eChannel technical platform, 3) the move of our Data Center and 4) ongoing support for EYOnline.
