As an Associate Director, Instructional Design in the Learning & Performance Group, you are to ensure high educational standards are maintained for learning materials at Wyeth. Your job responsibilities will include: managing the deployment of multiple training projects that support business, ROI and learning needs as requested by sales, marketing, or sales training to successful completion, following the department Project Life Cycle process to manage and oversee the scope, timeline and budget of multiple projects; collaborating with a matrixed team of stakeholders, subject matter experts, trainers, vendors, marketing, medical, legal, regulatory, editorial, and traffic coordinators during all phases of a training project and utilizing communication skills, arranging team review meetings and regularly reviewing project plans and the timeline with the key stakeholders; employing recognized instructional design principles for blended learning solutions (classroom and distance learning) that enable the delivery of high quality, cost-effective programs that help achieve specified learning goals and objectives; analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs to meet the needs of learners in US and EX-US settings, including but not limited to, multiple delivery options, translation/localization capabilities and maintenance strategies; and supervising, advising and maintaining oversight for assigned project managers, instructional designers, editors/proofreaders, and vendors and providing training on Wyeth internal processes required for the successful completion of a training project.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree (MS or PhD in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or related education field preferred) and 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with various levels of supervisory and management responsibilities which should include at least 3-5 years experience in project management (pharmaceuticals preferred) including process improvement methodologies and leadership responsibility. 3-5 years of instructional design experience in a professional setting or educational field is also required. Coursework or work experience in a training or educational institution or environment and a Project Management Certification is strongly preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of current promotional and compliance issues in pharmaceutical marketing and sales gained from direct work experience, a demonstrated strong leadership, teamwork and supervisory skills and excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills. The position also requires basic use of computer skills (Microsoft Office products) and Learning Technology (Learning Management System, authoring tools) and e-learning knowledge and experience.
