Architectural-Engineer Project Manager
Purpose: ROLE QUALIFICATIONS - Must consistently complete Projects on-time, at or under budget with a high degree of Customer satisfaction.
-Must be able to identify unusual project requirements either in terms of size, complexity, volume, etc. that warrant a design review with Sales, Manufacturing, R&D and other organizations as appropriate.
-Must be forward looking to upcoming projects especially those occurring in the 3 month horizon, so as to pro-actively plan approval shop release installation in accordance with Customer scheduling needs.
-Must assist Sales in bid estimate and proposal preparation.
-This person will handle one of there three business units that the company handles which is there ARCHITECTURAL UNIT, the other two are Door/Windows and HVAC.
POSITION SUMMARY
After a Customer Order has been received, the Business Unit Project Manager serves as the Customer's first point of contact and ensures that the Customer specifications are met within the bounds of the company's Technical Proposal in a timely manner that either meets or is less than the company's budget for the Project. Also, assigns a lower level PM to the client/project to make sure that there is an ongoing and everyday person focusing on the client or project's need. This person will be taking over for someone who is retiring.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
-Takes responsibility for Project Design by establishing work scope for Designer and overseeing drawing preparation.
-Responsible for all Customer communications.
-Transmits drawings and secures Customer approval as well as scheduling.
-Supervises either Designer or Junior Project Manager through preparation of Shop Release package for manufacturing.
-Identifies cost saving opportunities through Value Engineering principles and alternate vendor sources.
-Takes full responsibility for accuracy and completeness for Shop Release.
-As required by the Project, competitively bids out work covered by either materials or installation.
-Prepares monthly Estimates At Completion for all assigned Projects.
-Performs calculations covering structural design, HVAC, electrical, acoustic, etc. for which individual has a core competency or alternatively seeks an alternative internal source for performing the same.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
-Bachelor Degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural related field.
-Planning: an ability to plan ahead over a 3-6 month time span.
-Management: The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities as well as budgets and schedules.
-Be proactive in terms of anticipating problems, providing solutions and recovery plans as appropriate.
