Applications Development Manager

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $95000.00 to $105000.00 per year SUMMARY: The Manager of Application Development is a key team player focused on delivering high quality, innovative software solutions. The Manager plans and effectively manages most aspects of large, complex projects. Managers oversee and execute all aspects of project management and administration. Working independently, they assume increasing levels of responsibility, and interact with all levels of technology and business management. Managers align themselves with the business applying technology at a strategic and system level to solve business problems. Managers provide technology leadership to software engineers and developers as well as business partners for software systems within their areas of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:•Manages and guides teams through successful delivery of new software products and enhancements to production software. Fully understands and defines scope of technical software projects and analyzes requests for services and development.•Manages and leads project planning and all phases of the software development life cycle including project kickoff session with business sponsors.•Produces work estimates and timeframes for project and software development tasks•Manages, assigns and oversees development of design documents and unit test plans•Interacts with PMO team to prioritize project tasks•Reviews functional specifications of software features•Ensures quality of software through standards enforcement, peer code review and automated tools•Manages and reviews specifications, technical plans, and progress from developers
•Makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.). Provides management leadership and career development for a team of technology professionals.
•Manages budget and expenses associated with technology project within area of responsibility.
