Applications Analyst

Federal Ammunition, a division of ATK is a leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ammunition. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology. Principle accountabilities include:

• Responsible for performing business analysis activities to discover business needs through business user interviews and identifying business requirements resulting in recommending and designing technical solution alternatives.

• Responsible for clearly understanding the business needs and driving the appropriate implementation of department or corporate wide solutions as they relate to applications involved in human resource management systems, Intranet, expense reporting, business performance management, financial systems, business area reporting, compliance, and other corporate application environments.

• Leads, defines and promotes the analysis and understanding of business processes and mapping business information to insure the successful coordination and integration of business requirements within the department and corporate application environment.

• Provides analytical and solution decision support for the implementation and on-going enhancements of department or corporate applications to include development assistance, application testing, and identifying/resolving complex issues.

• Designs, documents, and manages the project planning and the coordination of the business acceptance testing activities for the implementation and integration efforts of department or corporate applications.

• Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners to understand their needs, articulate technology solutions in non-technical terms, and assists in end-user training.Job Requirements


• Bachelors Degree, preferred in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in MS Desktop products

Current knowledge/ skills in IBM iSeries; RPGIV & ILE

Experience in Infor Systems 21, ERP


• 5+ years experience in performing business analysis activities for discovering business needs and identifying technical solution alternatives. Experience in gathering business requirements and performing business process modeling resulting in understanding business needs for application design and implementation.

• 4-5 years recent experience involved in corporate ERP applications (HRMS or Financials or Manufacturing) with technical and design experience in system analysis and guiding programming development. Experience in SQL and using SQL reporting tools with relational databases.

• Experience in project methodology and planning and understanding its implications on business processes and systems development to insure its effective use in achieving effective business solutions.




• Experience and proficiency in PC business software MS Office andVisio.
