Analyst, Application Requirements

SUMMARY/GOAL OF THE POSITION
IDENTIFY BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPUTERIZED APPLICATION SYSTEMS USED BY THE PRACTICE AND FACILITATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REQUIRED SUPPORT.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY (LIST THE MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY WITH SUPPORTING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES IN ORDER OF PRIORITY)

I. Requirements Definition
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle model as used by Clark Consulting.
• Exhibit a good command of analytical techniques for software design and workflow/business processes.
• Develop and demonstrate good understanding of Corporate Solutions business.
• Demonstrate good understanding of relational database structure and design as needed for assigned systems.
• Document high-level and detailed requirements for small-to-medium sized system enhancements and new application systems with some supervision.
• Develop calculation models to demonstrate expected results of requirements as required.
• Experience analyzing business processes and identifying commom functions across a broad range of applications. Experience translating these commom functions into common business objects and services.
• Worked extensively on user requirements gathering and development of functional specifications on projects that require full life cycle (inception to implementation).
• Very strong problem solving skills, ability to infer from previous examples, willingness to understand relationships between business areas and supporting application infrastructure.
• Experience developing detailed process flows and use cases.
• Good multi-talking skills with desire to work in a fast-past environment; strong follow-through skills with the ability to meet deadlines and communicate the status of assignments.

II. Project Management
• Create project plans/timelines; coordinate task delineation and assignment; and monitor task progression against published deadlines for small projects with some supervision.

III. Quality Assurance Support
• Support QA Analysts in preparation of test plans and review of testing results as required.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EDUCATION:
• Four-year bachelors degree (preferably in a business field or information technology field), or a combination of closely related experience and education

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3 years working with relational database applications or major business applications
• Minimum 1 years Project Manager experience
• Minimum 1 year defining requirements for application systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
(TECHNICAL SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS)
• Good Project Management skills
• Good understanding of relational database application design
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of insurance, finance, and employee benefit plans a plus
