After School/Summer Camp Coordinator

Presbyterian Children’s Village Services is looking to hire an After School/Summer Program Coordinator. This is a PART-TIME position working approx 25 hours Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Additional evening and weekend hours may be required based on the needs of the program.

The Coordinator’s main responsibilities are as follows:


1. Manage all academic enrichment, creative learning activities, recreational activities, contractor supported, social building and team-building skills components of the After School and Summer Program.

2. Team with program supervisor and program director to create recruitment and retention plans, as well as proactive safety measures for After School/Summer Program.

3. Develops program schedules, procedures, reports and forms for after school and positive youth development programs as required.


4. Team with program supervisor and program director to hire all program staff to work in the After School/Summer program, including teachers, instructors, youth aides, and support staff. Supervise all program staff through regular contact and documentation. Manage site’s payroll time sheets, staff grievances and conflicts.

5. Interfaces and communicates daily with principal, other school administration, staff members, program supervisor, program director and parents regarding students’ involvement in regular school day, including strategies to develop, implement and maintain After School/Summer programming.

6. Maintains daily attendance and activity log records for each participant as specified by the After School/Summer Program Initiative and City of Philadelphia Core Standards for after school programs. Complete disciplinary forms, attendance and activity reports and submit to supervisor in a timely manner.

7. Manage and limit participant conflict resolutions. Ensure student conflicts and rendering disciplinary solutions are handled as stated in program policy and procedures.

8. Assist program supervisor and program director in developing community partnerships necessary to provide programming outlined in the funded proposal.

9. Interface with Technical Assistance provider identified by City of Philadelphia and United Way.

10. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to the After School/Summer Camp Coordinator as required
REQUIREMENTS
A. Education and/or Experience



· High School Diploma required; however Associate’s degree in human services, sport and recreation, business administration, or other related field preferred.

· Minimum 6 month’s supervisory experience in an after school, recreation, or summer camp setting.

· Basic computer knowledge and experience navigating in Word and Excel.

· Knowledge of youth development best practices and program management.

· Demonstrated evidence of cultural competence.

· Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
