ASP, VB, .NET and SQL Server Developer

Responsibilities

·Participate in all aspects of the software development process including application design, coding, testing, and deployment as part of a project team.
·Adhere to standards and develop software in a multi-tiered environment.
·Provide time estimates for completion of project tasks.
·Generate and modify detailed functional and technical documentation.
·Develop test plans from system requirements and design.
·Unit, component test and debug against project test plans.
·Support production systems and expeditiously resolving related issues.
·Participate in phone and pager duties to provide 24x7 hour support.
·Occasionally travel, work night and weekend hours to support production schedules.
·Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
·The ideal candidate for this position must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in software design and development.
·Strong working knowledge with Visual Basic, VB6, ASP, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft .Net (VB.NET or C#) and MS SQL or Oracle is required.
·Must possess knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Database Normalization and Design, version control, formalized testing and debugging techniques and change management.
·Must have an understanding and working knowledge the following technologies: DTS, BCP, ADO, COM, IIS and ASP.
·MS SQL Server experience is required.
·Experience developing for a Citrix environment and working with grid and list custom controls is a plus.
·Candidate must hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent field of study.
·Business knowledge related to inventory management or railcar repair application is not required, but a plus.

Candidate must be able to keep project manager abreast of any problems or issues and inform appropriate departments of changes that will impact them. Must have ability to function both independently and in a team environment, be able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and successfully work against fixed implementation dates. Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
