ARCHITECT, ASSOCIATE

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs a variety of architectural assignments by applying standard architectural/engineering techniques and analyses. The Architect at this level has a working knowledge of architectural/engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures, and is capable of performing the less-complex project assignments.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing reports, calculations, plant layout drawings, and detailed design and construction drawings.Ensures compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Prepares materials and writes construction specifications.Coordinators work with other engineering disciplines. Extracts engineering and estimating information from drawings.Prepares and issues drawing packages after approvals. Makes quantity take-offs for construction estimates.May conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations. Provides technical guidance to Designer/Drafters working on the same project.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Architecture (or related field) and 3-5 years of related work experience.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Working knowledge of architectural/engineering theories, concepts, and applications. Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering, are required.
