Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: * Analyze, interpret, and establish design requirements based on engineering instructions and available technical data. Visualize, conceive, and provide configurations for solutions of design problems. Work with various detail levels of input.
Prepare clear, concise and accurate conceptual and/or design layouts, drawings, and models defining tolerances, fits, clearances, and space requirements including other graphical presentations as required.
Apply Power Generation Engineering Product Definition Procedures and Industry Standards, Company Drafting Practices and Procedures, and promote the standardization of parts.
Plan and produce work to ensure completion of scheduled tasks to support the development, lab testing, and manufacturing of Aeroderivative equipment to the requirements of NPI project definition.
Work with Engineering to build parametric 3D models to be used for further analytical modeling and design optimization studies.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Minimum of 5 years of design and drafting experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Extensive familiarity with ASME drafting standards.
Working knowledge of turbine-generator mechanical systems.Desired: * 10+ years of design and drafting experience.
Experience and / or familiarity with:
GE Aero Energy products and services
Mechanical Desktop
Unigraphics
Matrix One
Oracle
Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong focus on quality and customer responsiveness.
