Waiver Associate

Applus Technologies, Inc. is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar international utility and public services holding company. We provide technology and management services to state and local governments nationwide.
Position Purpose:
As a Waiver Associate you will be responsible for operating a waiver center. At the waiver center you will disseminate information about the program and resolve issues surrounding general program information, as well as waiver exemptions and extensions. You will also deal with customers who have lost emission inspection forms or need to receive answers about Program changes or emission information.
Job Responsibilities:
•Customer Service/Public Relation’s liaison for vehicle owners in need of waivers, extensions and exemptions
•Complete necessary training on how to perform all waiver facility functions
•Open and close all waiver facilities according to designated hours of operation and send appropriate notifications set forth by management per the Business Operations and Procedures.
•Maintain cleanliness and professional work environment in and around the waiver office and its facilities
•Follow the guidelines set aside in the Business Operations and Procedures for the Georgia program
•Determine if vehicle owners are eligible for extensions, exemptions or special case waivers
•Issue waivers, extensions, exemptions and special case waivers per prescribed procedures
•Determine if vehicle receipts for repair expenditures are over the prescribed limit and whether they were qualifying repairs
•Inspect vehicles to determine if prescribed auto repairs were performed
•Review, retain, and adapt to program changes as well as local Clean Air Rules and Regulations
•Resolve issues, small and large, independently and effectively; once resolved, provide written reports to management on the issues
•Change video surveillance tapes on a weekly basis.
•Completes other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager and/or management-designated person
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Skills:
•General knowledge of computers, data entry and basic troubleshooting skills
•High level of knowledge and understanding of the program operations, procedures, changes, and updates.
•Ability to work in a Team environment
•Ability to display a positive disposition at all times •Be thoroughly versed in all aspects of local Clean Air and Emission Program Rules and Regulations
•Ability to adapt to, and support, program changes•Dependable, reliable, self-motivated, and punctual
•Excellent communication skills required
•Professional manner and appearanceRequirements:
•High school graduate or equivalent; Bilingual preferred
•Pass an emissions inspector certification training class and any certification as determined by management
•Professional manner and appearance
•Experience in public relations desired, experience in successful conflict resolution preferred
