Responsible for efficient and accurate preparation, assembly and service of quality food and attractive trays to patients.DIMENSION/SCOPE:
The Tray line Attendant is responsible to the Patient Food Service Supervisor who is in turn responsible to the Patient Food Service Manager.
Assembles up to 575 trays per meal and 1650 per day and 50 nourishments and enteral feeding assembly each day. Expectation for speed is 4.5 trays per minute at breakfast and 4 trays per minute at lunch and dinner.Tray Assembly attendants are responsible for following established procedures for assigned activities involved in the basic preparation and service of food in Tray Assembly. Each station is set up according to a standard. Utensils, dishes, and portions are standard. Tray placement guidelines are utilized. special circumstances must be followed for each unit such as carts with doors, straws excluded for some areas, paper trays etc. Preparation methods for special thickened liquids or thinned liquids must be followed.Tray delivery to patients is included in two station job routines.Supplies are gathered throughout the department for tray service and nourishment preparation. Follows through and reports all equipment issues to supervisor.Communication with patients and other employees is a requirement of this position and is done in accordance with Customer Relation Standards. Teamwork is a must.Health Department and Miami Valley Hospital standards for food handlers must be met. All work must be done in accordance with established stands for food safety, sanitation and the worker's safety. Food is used within expiration dates.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
An applicant with a high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred, but not required. Food service or assembly line experience is helpful. A new employee would need a minimum of one to three months on-the-job training to be able to perform at a competent level.Conditions include infrequent exposure to general infections (bacteria, viruses, etc.). Conditions require constant skin exposure to wetness and daily exposure to food handling. Job requires on a daily basis: good reading skills, (must be able to read upside down), high alertness, and ability to deal with stress. Conditions include working on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to stand and walk up to 9 hours per day and balance while moving between standing, kneeling, twisting, bending, squatting. Job requires being able to push, pull, reach with arms, and bend and twist at the waist. Lifting of 25 pounds frequently and 35 pounds occasionally. Must have 20/40 near vision and 20/40 far vision with or without glasses; is able to discriminate between red, green, and white, and have visual depth perception. May use wither hand for work. Must have manual dexterity including being angle to taupe, use a tool, and grip with hand. May use either foot for work. Job requires being able to hear a whispered voice at three feet.part time - varied shifts - 8 hours long
