Technical Service Specialist

Purpose: ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - This position involves a variety of responsibilities like customer support/application (40%), product support (40%), administrative (10%) and new product development support (10%). He/She will interface with the Sales and Marketing Groups and Supply Chain groups on a regular basis.
-Laboratory safety is a primary concern of all technical service personnel.
-Provide correct and timely answers on a daily basis to the incoming technical service support calls. Able to review scientific data and plan further experiments which will aid the Sales and Marketing groups.
-Make day to day decisions which influence the scientific content of technical service laboratory activities.
-Participate in Sales and Marketing Meetings, Planning Meetings, and New Product Process.
-Occasionally travel and function in different cultural environments. Multi-lingual a plus but not necessary. Coordinate scientific activities with the other members of the technical service group
-Working knowledge of the company's products. Proficient at entering incoming technical service calls into the customer database.
-Primary contact is Technical Service Manager, several times a week if not daily. Also must be able to contact members of the Sales and Marketing groups, and Supply Chain Groups as needed. Familiarity with and good working relationships with key customer contacts as identified through technical service support line is necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Highly motivated and self-directed individual who can work independently as a vital member of the technical service group. The company is looking for someone with strong leadership potential both scientifically and administratively
-Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering required. Advanced degree is a plus.
-Three to five years experience in HPLC method development is required, particularly in RPC.
-Extensive use of HPLC equipment necessary.
-Must be familiar with RPC theory.
-Familiar with other modes of chromatography is very desirable.
-Knowledge of LC-MS theory would be a plus.
-Excellent Communicative Skills and ability to function in multicultural environments.
