Technical Operations Director

The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Director, Technical Operations for our Advanced Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
Oversee operations for Time Warner Cable's Regional Data Center in our Woodside, NY facility; Responsibilities include managing the local Network and Systems Managers and their teams; The RDC team provides Technical and Operational Support for various IP-based products and services offered by Time Warner Cable in the New York City, Staten Island, New Jersey and Liberty areas; These products include, but are not limited to, Road Runner High Speed Online, Road Runner Business Class, Time Warner Digital Phone and Time Warner Dedicated Access product; The Staff is responsible for Building, Deploying and Supporting all of the equipment in the Woodside facility as well as the components which are distributed around in the Division's cable footprint; In addition, the Director will interface with the Time Warner Cable Divisions in the region on a regular basis to ensure that we are maintaining the high levels of system uptime and service availability that our customers have grown to expect, as well as keep them informed on the status of upcoming products and releases; Other responsibilities include participating in several key initiatives, including Disaster Recovery and Storage Area Networking as well as a Data Center expansion planned for 1Q06. This is a fast-paced environment; Deploying new products and services, and upgrading the existing infrastructure to keep up with tremendous customer growth, are the two biggest challenges.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
Effective management & communication skills; Orientated to working in teams; Experience working in an Internet Service Provider (ISP) environment is a big plus; Familiarity with IP-based Networks and Unix-based Application Servers is preferred; Must have good organizational and project management skills and the ability to prioritize many different projects from many different functional groups within the organization.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Unix/Solaris, and IP-based
