Tech Services Associate - Customer Support

SAFC Biosciences has a long history in the cell culture products and reagents industry, spanning three decades, under different names. Customers have been a focus throughout our history, just as developing and manufacturing cell culture products such as animal sera, dry powder media, liquid media and supplements have been. Product development activities continue to expand our portfolio of serum-free media for use with a diverse range of cell lines. Customers and progressive products and services remain our focus today.

The successful incumbent will provide information in a timely fashion verbally and/or in writing to customers, vendors, sales staff and internal staff regarding product applications, manufacturing processes, validations, regulatory compliance and general cell culture techniques. Perform technical experimentation as directed to address manufacturing process issues, customer incidents or problems and develop new quality control techniques as required. Experimentation may include cell culture, biochemical assays, media preparation, equipment operation and other physical manipulation of product or processes. Write or review technical literature supporting SAFC products and positioning. Conduct or assist internal training of SAFC staff. Adhere to safe laboratory procedures and maintenance of a safe laboratory environment. Perform other job related duties as may be required.

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

•Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field with a minimum of 2 years cell culture experience or equivalent education and experience.
•One year of mammalian cell culture experience.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Proficient in MS Office Suite, with the ability to generate reports, documentation, spreadsheets and graphic presentations.
•Ability to work independently and in team environment.
•Effective customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and co-workers in a productive manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Biochemistry/chemistry knowledge.
•Protein/viral purification and/or quantization.
•Industrial/pilot scale cell culture experience.
•Familiar with GMP, 21CFR and 9CFR.
