Tech Service Manager in Training
CompUSA, unleashing the power of technology, is currently looking for a Technical Service Sales Manager in Training to be part of our highly successful Technical Services Department in our Manchester SuperStore. This is a trainee position with the purpose of learning how to supervise the Technical Services Department of a store. Upon completion of the training this position will be able to supervise the activities of the Technical Services Department within a store, including the servicing and repairing of computer systems, maximizing technical services department sales, revenues and profitability, maintaining department records and schedules, ordering parts and supplies, responding to customer inquiries, and providing general information and promoting sale of company services, products, and operations.
This key player's essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify a self-development plan, attend and participate in management development programs. Complete the Customer Service --The CompUSA Way training.
Assign service orders to Technicians, schedule Technicians to perform delivery and installation work at customer sites and ensures a first in/first out workflow. Prepare Technician Daily Logs and Route Sheets for review by the General Manager.
Manage speed of service results, controls inventory that is used for service orders, and is responsible for the overall organization and appearance of the Service Center.
Order and receive spare parts for service orders, return defective parts to the vendor, file all service order and purchase order paperwork, review service orders for correctness in billing, and correct purchase orders that have been rejected by the Multi-Vendor Support Group. Ensure all orders are properly documented and released for pick-up.
Answer routine customer inquiries about accounts and transactions, and assists customers and clients with problems and questions about service.
May assist the General Manager with preparation of work schedules, payroll input, and budget preparation.
Interview potential new hires and provides input and recommendations to the General Manager on hiring actions, terminations and performance appraisals.

The professional we seek will have strong communication skills and thrive on multiple challenges. A high school education or GED equivalent, 3-4 years technical services/sales experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training is required. Accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred. Must exhibit the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and work in a team environment.
