Scripps is a not-for-profit, community-based health care delivery network in San Diego, California, that includes five acute-care hospitals, more than 2,600 affiliated physicians, an extensive ambulatory care network, home health care and associated support services. Responsible for scheduling patient visits in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. Processes patient documents in accordance with established policy. Works cooperatively with all members of the interdisciplinary team including patients, physicians and other internal and external customers. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Two years scheduling and/or processing paperwork in a health care environment. Home care experience strongly preferred. Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Misys desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Must have ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail necessary.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure with multiple simultaneous priorities and with frequent interruptions. Must have excellent customer service skills.Required Education/Course(s)/Training: High School diploma or equivalent education. Associate Degree preferred. Medical terminology certificate preferred.
