Support Specialist - Level I Description:

The Support Specialist - Level I on our Technical Support team here in Lexington, Kentucky provides support working via phone, email and predominantly our online web-based support systems. Position requires direct interaction with customer’s design applications for problem resolution, troubleshooting, research and documentation of Exstream’s products. You would be working directly with our customers and also with other members of the Exstream organization in providing problem resolution.
This entry-level position offers an opportunity to join our dynamic group of Software Support Specialists, gain experience in a unique area of the Information Technology industry and an opportunity for career growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Support Specialist Requirements:Previous experience in software support.
Strong analytical processing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Programming competency is preferred.
MVS and UNIX experience is preferred, PC experience is essential.
Web applications and web-servers, J2EE or .NET is a plus
Database platforms (Oracle, SQL & DB2) are a benefit.
Experience with print-streams (Postscript, PCL, Metacode, AFP, etc) is a bonus.NOTE: This is NOT an IT Helpdesk role (networks, windows o/s, hardware etc.) or a call center role. Experience only in these areas would not be sufficient.
