Supervisor Customer Metering

Currently we are looking for a Customer Metering Supervisor located in our Belle Mead facility. This position will also share some responsibilities for our Plainfield location. This position reports directly to the Meter Superintendent and is responsible for directing the day-to-day management of large meter installation, testing and replacement. Additional responsibilities include directing inspections of backflow prevention devices, customer well connection and pre-checking inspections for new installation. REQUIREMENTS
•Supervise employees engaged in the efficient operation of the Company program for the installation, testing and replacement of large meters and small meters in the Meter Shop.
•Direct inspection and testing on permitted required backflow prevention devices and ensure the maintenance of the Back Flow Tracker Data Base.
•Direct employees engaged in inspections to verify the removal of non-potable water wells for residential premises.
•Direct employees engaged in field inspections for periodic testing or change, for meters 3” and larger.
•Direct employees engaged in pre-check inspections for new meter installations, 1-1/2” and larger.
•Direct meter shop staff tests related to Board of Public Utility complaints.
•Direct employees engaged in repairs to large meters.

Position Knowledge:
•Strong knowledge of regulatory standards of performance, OSHA requirements and company policies and procedures related to meter installation;
•Knowledge of NJDEP Physical Connections & Cross-Connections Control By Containment regulations;
•General understanding of AWWA testing procedures;
•Knowledge of plumbing and construction.

Position Skills:
Demonstrated management experience, including performance management
•Project management skills including planning and organizing;
•Ability to identify various meter types, and their characteristics;
•Demonstrated customer advocacy;
•Computer literacy in Orcom / SAP, word processing and spreadsheet, and proven skills utilizing database software.

Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years supervisory experience in the field service area preferably with a customer facing focus.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Certification
Certified NJDEP Backflow Prevention Device Inspector and Confined Space required.
