Supervisor (Central Monitoring)

General Summary:

The primary function of this position is to supervise and train non-exempt personnel in the Central Monitoring Service area.

·Assist in the design, implementation and administration of operating policies relative to Central Monitoring.

·Responsible for training Central Monitoring operators in all technical procedures required to complete their job assignments.

·Provide daily supervision and oversight of Central Monitoring operators relative to processing alarm conditions, customer voice calls and after-hours UL service calls.

·Interface with appropriate branch service personnel regarding service issues on a daily basis as required to resolve customer problems.

·Establish and post departmental work schedules ensuring adequate coverage

·Monitor departmental use of the company intranet and phone.

·Update Technical Supervisor as needed to receive Technical Support for the resolution of problems relating to the Central Monitoring Department.

·Participate in preparing and conducting performance reviews of subordinate employees and the setting of goals and objectives relative to performance expectations.

·Perform all other necessary operating, administrative and clerical functions as directed.


Ancillary Position Functions:

·Performs other duties as directed.


Scope:

·The scope of this position extends to employees in the field, Central Monitoring as well as interaction with other internal departments.

Impact:

·The position directly impacts the total effectiveness and success of the Central Monitoring area.

Education, Experience and Certifications/Licenses:

·High School Graduate or equivalent
·Three or more years of Central Monitoring customer service experience, over the course of which time the position of Lead Operator has been attained.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·Must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.
·Leadership ability along with effective management, delegation and training skills.
·Ability to make sound decisions using supervisory knowledge and integrity

Working Conditions/Physical and Mental Requirements:

1.Sitting for prolonged periods of time in office and meeting settings.
2.Use of computer keyboard and attention to PC monitor often for prolonged periods.
