Store Manager - SE New Mexico-Carlsbad, Roswell and Ruidoso

The first Family Dollar store was opened in Charlotte, NC in 1959. It was a relatively small, self-service operation located in a neighborhood convenient to low and middle income consumers. The merchandise assortment featured basic goods for family and home needs, and the no frills, low overhead, cash-and-carry environment provided good value at the lowest price points. As new stores opened in the early years of the Company's existence, it became clear that this merchandising concept filled a niche in the marketplace and held great promise for supporting a chain of much larger size.
Responsible for the overall efficient and profitable operation of the store (stores range in size from 6,000 to 8,000 square feet), and management of store staff to that end. Responsibilities include customer service as well as control and supervision of the sales area, control of incoming and outgoing merchandise, proper ordering of merchandise, coordinating merchandise activities for sales promotions in the area of merchandise display and pricing, monitoring cash flow and budgeting, implementing weekly work schedules, and hiring, development and training of staff.
REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking retail management professionals with a minimum of two (2) years of store management experience.Family Dollar Stores, a growing discount retail store with over 6,000 stores in 44 states, is currently seeking hands-on experienced Store Managers.
