Sr. Medical Program Specialist - Critical Care Devices
In this role you will be responsible as a team lead for a group of allied medical professionals (eg, RNs) which functions as a full-time, primary source of medical and product information to individuals and organizations. These customers will include, but are not limited to, pharmacists, doctors, nurses, researchers, internal Hospira departments such as Customer Care, Hospira Sales Force, Regulatory Affairs, Product Complaint and marketing. You will also provide verbal or written specialized medical/technical support to high-end and special needs accounts, and to both internal and external customers with complex inquiries with adequate, accurate and timely product information, so well informed and rational decisions about product selection or use may be made by clinicians.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a system to track all advanced inquiries that will allow for accurate statistics, reports and quick retrieval of information if necessary
Notify the Medical Director, Marketing Managers or other departments as necessary of significant issues or inquiry trends
Provide precise assessment of promotional material and training documents by serving as the Medical Representative on Promotional Review Committees working with other product/franchise experts, such as Marketing Managers and Regulatory Directors
Develop and implement product area-specific education programs to ensure appropriate product training has been provided to internal customers including (but not limited to) updates on recent publications and product releases, as well as "lessons learned" from resolving complex inquiries
Coordinate activities for related medical education with the Promotional Review Committee, and contracts with identified Key Opinion Leaders within the medical community, with distinguished medical facilities, and with leaders of cross-functional teams within Hospira, to develop Medical Advisory Boards, study sites, and site visit programs for Hospira personnel, as needed to assist with Product development initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this position, you must possess:
Bachelor's Degree (BSN or BS)required
RN experience in critical care setting for a minimum of 3 years
Management of a critical care unit is strongly preferred
Minimum of 4 years experience within the hospital products industry is also required 10+ years of overall industry experience is preferred
Direct supervision experience is strongly preferred
Well-developed analytical skills
Motivated, self-starter capabilities that proactively identify needs for process improvement
Ability to multitask and recognize attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to communicate technical and medical information
Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse education, experience, and position
Proven success with participation and holding of a leadership position on cross-functional teams
