Servo Electronics Specialist

Exlar, a leading manufacturer of high performance electro-mechanical linear actuators and rotary motors, seeks an experienced specialist to work with multiple brands of brushless servo amplifiers to support in house product production and customer use.

Primary Objective of Position:
To provide technical support for all servo amplifiers interface to Exlar products. This technical support will be provided to external customers and internally to Exlar production, engineering, sales and marketing.

Major Areas of Accountability:
Assist Exlar customers and the Exlar sales organization with application / technical support questions/issues related to the interface of the electronics to Exlar products, including phone and on-site support.

Install, setup and document new and existing servo drive configurations providing Exlar production the ability to properly configure and test Exlar actuators using the new drive.

Develop and maintain a functional and efficient production test capability insuring Exlar products are correctly configured to run on a specific customers drive.

Coordinate documentation activities with appropriate Exlar marketing personnel for the purpose of creating, updating and maintaining Exlar product manuals.

Provide technical support for Exlar’s universal feedback alignment/test stand, including programming, insuring production has a reliable and cost effective tool for correctly aligning motor feedback devices to a specific servo drives specification.

Assist Exlar production in troubleshooting actuator/drive problems.

Provide drive support for the engineering test room for all functional and life testing.

Interface with Exlar drive suppliers insuring acceptable levels of product quality. Activities may include conducting qualification testing, root cause analysis of failures and insuring corrective action is taken.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications (Educational, Professional, Physical):
• BSEE or Electronics Degree with experience supporting the operation of brushless motor feedback devices.
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be very proficient in Excel, Access, Word and Outlook. CAD experience a plus.
