MarketSource, Inc. is currently seeking a Server Product Specialist to represent our client, a major technology products direct response reseller. The Server Product Specialist will be a main pre sales technical focal point for the client within their sales center, and in addition, will be responsible for a limited amount of end user on-site pre sales product support. The Specialist will be a primary product expert for Intel based sever products, Unix Servers, related storage, and options. This position is also responsible for conducting technical training and developing and managing the technical education roadmap for sales reps and tech support reps within the direct response reseller center. The Server Product Specialist must be able to address day to day technical related questions as they relate to end user sales.
Job DescriptionProvide direct technical pre-sales support of client’s Intel based servers, Unix Servers (such as IBM pSeries Servers), related storage and options products to telesales and tech support teams
Conduct product technical training for sales and tech support repsExpertise in client product set to include all systems, parts, options and accessories for the product lineProvide server configuration support and expertiseProvide pre-sales technical support of all assigned products and storage products to enhance full solution sellEvaluate customer need based on description of customer environment and ability to offer full client solution with complete configurationExercise good understanding of the competitive advantages of assigned branded product line vs. competitionWork closely with sales teams and act as the product champion
REQUIREMENTS
Qualification/SkillsThe Server Product Specialist must be customer-driven and possess the ability to communicate technical product information, specify configurations, and successfully deliver product solutions to drive server and storage related product sales.The position will require working on site at the customer location interfacing with the inside and outside sales teams, and technically support end user on-site sales opportunitiesThe individual must be responsive, proactive, self-motivated, creative, flexible, consistently meets commitments, and exhibits a high level of integrityThe Server Product Specialist will be expected to be the product expert and answer technical and non-technical questions in regard to assigned product linesBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 3-4 years inside or outside technical sales support experience with Intel based and Unix server product knowledge
Requires experience with Intel based and Unix platform server products
