Senior Tech Strategist - Payments

The Strategic Technology group is responsible for driving technology innovation across Capital One.   We identify and track emerging technologies outside the company, and bring them in when they can provide value to our businesses.



The Senior Technology Strategist for Payments will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and prototyping high value emerging technologies related to the evolving space of payments.   You will lead your own small-scale proof-of-concept projects, interact with vendors, as well as work with LOBs and their IT partners when a POC moves to a full-fledged deployment project.
REQUIREMENTS
A candidate for this position should have a broad-based understanding of technologies relevant to the financial services space as well as a deep understanding of payment technologies (e.g., the Visa/MasterCard/Amex/Discover networks, ACH, mobile phone payment systems, as well as newer payment technologies from companies such as PayPal, Google, and BillMeLater).    Experience with point-of-sale technologies such as RFID and biometrics is a plus.  Ten or more years of work experience in the payments space is required.
